1) Registration:
a. Location: Bridge Side Marina Rodeo Pavilion Dinner/Captains meeting Friday, August 17th from 7-9
pm; Tournament Day 5:30am -11am.
b. What you need to bring to the registration table:
--If you have registered and paid via PayPal on-line, - just show up.
--If you preregistered by submitting a registration form online, but have not paid,
all you will need to bring to the registration table is a check or cash for your entry fee ($45) and a
signed a tournament waiver form. You can print the waiver from the registration page and sign it
to speed up the process. We will have waivers at the registration desk for you to sign. Please make
your check payable to “Grand Isle Community Development Team”.
--If you have not pre-registered, you will need to
fill out a registration form and pay $50 check or cash. Please note if you do not pre-register, we cannot guaranty you
a ditty bag or your size t-shirt/vest. We are ordering a lot this year – hoping not to run out like
last year!
c. What you need to get at the registration table:
1) a dinner ticket (Extra Dinner Tickets will be sold for 15$ each – We will have enough steaks
for everyone who registers ahead and those that purchase extra dinner tickets online. For extra folks that show up at
the last minute, we will serve until the food is gone. (That goes for food on Saturday too!) In other words, if you
don’t let us know you are coming, we can’t promise we will have extra!) 2) orange safety vest with your angler number on the back. This vest is not a flotation device. You will need to bring
your own Coast Guard approved life jacket. The safety vest is to make sure that you are visible to other boat traffic.
We will record the weight of your fish by your angler number on the vest.

3) Weighing your fish:
a. Fish will
be weighed at a designated location on the dock at Bridge Side. We will have “chase” boats to help you get
your fish to the pontoon boat to weigh and release the fish quickly. There will be an oxygen tank on the pontoon boat
to help revive the fish for release. When you land your redfish, wave or call to signal one of the chase boats if you
need help getting the Redfish to the Pontoon boat to weigh and revive. If you caught the fish on a fly (Flyrod), tell
the chase boat to add an “F” to your number so that you will be eligible for the fly fishing prize.We will give you a cell phone number list for the chase boats.
4) Don’t forget to bring:
a. Min. 8 pound mushroom anchor (or equivalent) with at least 25 feet of rope.
b. Circle or Kahle hooks – better for the fish.You can get
all your Fishing needs at Gus's Tackle in Slidell, Bridgeside Marina in Grand Isle.
c. Coast Guard approved floatation
device!
d. A Good Attitude!
5) Where can my friends watch the Tournament?
a. Bridge Side Marina’s Porch upstairs is a great shaded place
to watch the action.
b.
The best view may be from the fishing bridge and the
beach on the western end of Grand Isle. Bring your lawn chair, cooler, binoculars and umbrella!
c. The
Leader board will be on the Dock at the Weigh in Location.

Awards- Join us on the at the Pavillion at Bridgeside for the awards presentation at 3pm on
Saturday. You must be present to accept your prize. If you are not there, the prize picks will go on without
you. If you won part of the Purse and are not present. We will mail your percentage
of the purse to you if you have provided us an accurate mailing address. Cash Bar at Bridgeside's pavilion will be open.
7) Door Prizes- Save the receipts from
your trip - write your name on the back of each and put them in the Door Prize Bucket on Sunday. Even if it is just
for a coke or bag of ice - each receipt is your door prize ticket. Why are we doing this? We want to show the
town and merchants on Grand Isle how much a Kayak event can bring to the island's economy - Proof that we are an economic
stimulus that they need to support in the future! As always - you must be present for the drawing to win a door prize.
8. Do I need a Geaux Pass to get to Grand Isle?
Answer: Yes,
you will need to get a Geaux Pass – get a single trip pass (its cheaper). There is no toll booth at the bridge,
it is all done electronically with cameras. You can get passes ahead of time at https://www.geauxpass.com/olcsc/la1/la1PpayStep1.doThe toll is only for south bound traffic. You will not need one when returning north.
9. Do I need a Louisiana Fishing License?
